Dust-free halls for equipment that never stops

Dust is the quiet enemy of a data hall. Fine particles drawn into server intakes and settled on cable trays and floor tiles work against airflow and add strain to equipment that is expected to run without a break. Ascent Cleaning keeps colocation facilities, enterprise server rooms and network sites across Northern California clean to the operator’s own procedures, so facility managers can show customers a hall that looks as controlled as it is.

We clean the whole building: the white space when your procedures allow it, and the offices, security lobbies, loading docks, breakrooms and restrooms that support it.

Data center markets we serve

Sacramento hosts large colocation campuses of its own. The South Bay holds one of the densest data center clusters on the West Coast, a short drive from our Campbell and San Jose service areas.

Each operator sets its own cleaning standard, and that standard governs every visit we make.

White space to the operator’s procedures

Work inside the data hall follows the method statement your operations team approves. Crews gown at the entry point you designate, with shoe covers, hair covers and gloves where required, and carry only approved, low-lint wipes, HEPA-filtered vacuums and cleaning solutions cleared for use near live equipment. Nothing is sprayed toward racks, and no equipment is touched, moved or opened.

Cleaning runs from the top down: overhead cable trays and ladder racks, then rack exteriors and blanking panels, then the floor surface, so loosened dust is captured rather than redistributed. Any customer cage is cleaned only when the operator or the tenant asks for it and opens it.

Raised floors and under-floor plenums

Raised floor tiles are damp-wiped with approved solutions and vacuumed with HEPA equipment, including perforated tiles and grommets. Where the facility uses an under-floor plenum, tiles are lifted in a sequence the operator approves, a section at a time, so airflow patterns stay intact while the void is vacuumed and wiped.

Stringers, pedestals and cable runs are cleaned without disturbing cabling, and every tile goes back exactly where it came from before the crew moves on. Floor care for offices and corridors outside the hall can be booked through commercial floor care.

Access, escorts and security

Data centers run on access control, and our crews work inside it. Names go to your security desk ahead of each visit, IDs are checked at the mantrap, and escorts are provided by your staff wherever your procedures require them. Visits are logged in and out, and crews stay within the zones cleared for that visit.

Every cleaner is background-checked before a first visit, and supervisors perform quality inspections against your checklist. Ascent carries insurance and workers’ comp, and a certificate of insurance is provided for your vendor file.

Offices, docks and support spaces

The rooms around the hall matter too. Network operations centers, offices and conference rooms get regular janitorial care, restrooms and breakrooms are cleaned and stocked, and shipping and receiving docks are swept and scrubbed so crates and packaging debris never get tracked toward the white space.

After a fit-out or a new data hall build, our post-construction cleaning team removes construction dust from ceilings, walls, trays and floors before equipment is installed.

Cleaning cycles and change windows

Every data hall keeps its own calendar, and the cleaning follows it. The NOC, offices, restrooms and docks can run on a nightly or weekly janitorial schedule, while the white space gets routine floor and surface care on the cycle your procedures set, monthly or quarterly, with a full top-to-bottom hall clean on a longer interval.

Visits inside the hall are booked around your maintenance windows and change freezes, never in the middle of a migration or cut-over. Extra cleans can be added after rack installs, cabling projects, cooling unit service or any work that stirs up dust under the floor, so the next routine visit starts from a clean baseline. Facilities from the Sacramento region to the South Bay can keep every building on one cleaning calendar.

What shapes the price

Data center cleaning is priced on the facility rather than a published rate. White space square footage, raised floor and plenum area, gowning and escort steps, visit frequency, after-hours windows and the size of the support areas all set the figure.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Do your crews follow our data hall procedures?

Yes. Your method statement sets the gowning, entry points, approved products and zones, and the crew works to it on every visit.

Can you clean under the raised floor?

Yes. Tiles are lifted in the sequence your team approves, a section at a time, and the plenum is vacuumed with HEPA equipment and wiped before each tile goes back.

Will cleaners touch our servers or network equipment?

No. Crews clean rack exteriors, blanking panels, trays and floors with approved low-lint materials and never move, open or unplug equipment.

We just finished building a data hall. Can it be cleaned before the racks arrive?

Yes. A post-construction clean removes construction dust from overhead trays, walls and floors so the room is ready for installation.

How often should our white space be cleaned?

On the cycle your procedures set. Routine floor and surface care can run monthly or quarterly, with extra visits after rack installs, cabling work or under-floor maintenance.
