Cleaning that protects the work in the room

In a lab or a cleanroom, a stray fiber or a smear on a pass-through window is more than a cosmetic problem. It can compromise a sample, a batch or a test run. Ascent Cleaning cleans research labs, quality-control suites, biotech and pharmaceutical support areas, and controlled rooms used for electronics and device assembly, working from the procedure your site has already written.

Your SOP sets the rules, and our crew learns them before the first visit: which rooms to enter, what to wear, which agents and wipes are approved, and how each visit is recorded.

Lab buildings across our service area

Controlled spaces show up throughout the region. Vacaville is home to biotechnology and pharmaceutical sites with their own entry rules. Fremont and San Jose mix technology firms and advanced manufacturing with labs and test floors behind ordinary office fronts. San Francisco has research buildings and lab suites, and across the Nevada line, Reno has engineering and life-science firms running their own lab suites.

Whether a site is a single lab suite in a mixed office building or a full production floor, it gets a task list built room by room.

Gowning, entry and tools that stay put

Crews gown in the order your procedure lists, through the anteroom, tacky mats and air shower if the room has them. Nothing goes through the door that your rules leave out. Buckets, mop frames and caddies are wiped down before they cross into the controlled zone, and tools assigned to a cleanroom stay in that cleanroom rather than traveling to the offices down the hall.

If your site keeps a cleaning log, a sign-in sheet or a supervisor check at the end of each visit, those steps become part of the routine from day one.

Cleanroom method, ceiling to floor

Particles fall, so cleanroom work starts high and finishes low. Crews begin at the ceiling grid and filter frames, move down walls, doors, pass-throughs and work surfaces, and end with the floor. Each room is worked from its cleanest point toward the exit, with overlapping passes so no strip is missed and no finished surface is crossed again.

Low-lint wipes, cleanroom mops and the disinfectants and residue removers your site approves keep the cleaning from adding contamination of its own. Your room’s ISO 14644-1 class, which grades air cleanliness by particle count, decides the frequency, materials and steps for every room on the plan.

Wet labs, dry labs and QC suites

Open labs get floors cleaned, sinks and eyewash surrounds wiped, door hardware and light switches disinfected, and fume hood exteriors and glass-front cabinet doors wiped. Benches are wiped only after lab staff clear them, so work in progress stays untouched. Trash and recycling go out on every visit.

The floor plan marks every room by its level of care, so a crew knows where it cleans fully, where it does a floor pass only, and where it waits for an escort. Disinfection of shared touchpoints can be added through our disinfection and sanitizing service.

Gowning rooms, offices and support spaces

The spaces around a lab matter as much as the lab itself. Gowning and locker rooms, restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms and offices are cleaned on regular janitorial visits, and loading docks and storage areas are handled through industrial cleaning. Corridor VCT is stripped and refinished, and sealed concrete in production areas is scrubbed, through commercial floor care.

Every area in the building sits under one plan and one contact, each with its own steps and visit days.

Shifts, shutdowns and what drives the price

Labs and production rooms rarely stop for a cleaning crew, so visits are booked for shift changes, maintenance windows and planned shutdowns, and heavier ceiling or wall work goes on the quiet weeks of your calendar. Each cleaner on a lab account is background-checked, supervisors follow up with quality inspections, and your EHS or facilities team gets a copy of our insurance certificate ahead of the first visit. When a room is reclassified or a procedure changes, the task list is updated before the next visit.

Pricing comes from your procedures rather than a flat rate: room classes and gowning steps, controlled and open lab area, visit frequency, escort and access time, after-hours or shutdown scheduling, and the offices and support spaces included.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Will your crew follow our gowning procedure?

Yes. Cleaners gown in the order your SOP sets, use your entry steps on every visit, and keep cleanroom tools inside the room they belong to.

How does a room's cleanroom class change the cleaning?

The room’s ISO 14644-1 class and your written procedure set the visit frequency, materials and steps, and the task list follows them room by room.

Can you use the disinfectants and wipes our site has approved?

Yes. Crews work with the agents, low-lint wipes and cleanroom mops your procedure approves, and nothing else is carried into the room.

Can our lab, offices and break rooms be on one plan?

Yes. Controlled rooms, open labs and the surrounding offices, restrooms and gowning areas run under one plan, and every area keeps a separate checklist and visit calendar.

Can cleaning happen during a shutdown or between shifts?

Yes. Visits are booked around shift changes, maintenance windows and planned shutdowns, with deeper work saved for the quiet weeks.
